The above was auto generated, This car is an import, was dry stored in 2008 before I purchased the car, since owning it I have catered for all it’s needs with no service history logged.
The car was off the road from October 23 for 2 reasons,1. I got the front end rebuilt due to damage from scraping. 2. The car has an intermittent cutting out issue.
Bridged the ports and the car told us IGN. Every last ignition component has now been replaced front to back, car was put through its mot and passed with 4 advisories. Tyre has been sorted. No warning lights whilst car is driveable, whatever the IGN issue was has now been fixed, but it ain’t the cause of the intermittent issue.
3 days after mot car cut out again, I now believe it to be fuel pump, when car cuts it usually won’t start until around 3 days later, when it will run again for about 3 hours drive time, and that cycle repeats.
I bought a Civic FN2 to see me through and now cannot keep both cars, and have decided to keep the FN2 due to time and money spent on the Celica.
The car is pretty rough all round , especially the wheels. The stereo fitted ain’t an exact fit, wheels rub when turning left also. Laquer peel in places, front end different shade of red due to recent paint. Key bit missing. The idea was I would sort out the intermittent issue and get the rest of the car painted, change the wheels and get it lookikg amazing. When I bought the car I put it back to a standard exhaust system, I should have the paperwork for this and any other work done on the car by garages.
Chasis wise it’s solid, and always gets comments when in a garage on a ramp for the great condition underneath.
In spite of all it’s flaws the car looks great from a distance and still turns heads.
No idea on the value of this car, starting the auction at £100 with no reserve as cannot keep paying for both cars to be on the road and also no longer have the time or desire to sort out this intermittent issue.
I would recommend the buyer has AA cover for driving this away, or even better a truck capable of taking the car as it is a low car and cannot really be towed or easily loaded on to certain trucks.
It’s on 132k, it’s the 2 litre non turbo, mechanically standard, mot until May 25, has about half a tank of petrol, and will come with all replaced parts of the ignition set up in the boot, all but the distributor I have spare parts for.
Looking to sell as honest sale, and happy to answer any questions.
Genuinely will break my heart to see the car go, however a 30 year old import is no longer something I am happy to try and maintain etc.
Any questions please feel free to ask.
